CONWAY — Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre will hold youth auditions for its 2012 summer season on Saturday, Feb. 18, in the Snow Fine Arts Center on the University of Central Arkansas campus.
Youth of all ages are encouraged to participate in the auditions, which will run from 2-5 p.m. in the Bridges/Larson Theatre.
“No preparation is necessary, but students may be asked to sing and move, and some may be given a scene to read,” said Rebekah Scallet, artistic director of AST.
To secure a space for the audition, e-mail arkshakes@gmail.com with the names and ages of the actors, as well as any pertinent experience they might have, including singing, dancing or past acting performances.
The AST summer season consists of the musical Big River and Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Richard III and an adaptation of The Tempest for young audiences. Rehearsals will begin May 15, with performances beginning June 7and lasting through July 1.
