Advocating for diversity has been Hershila Lallu’s first priority since coming to the University of Central Arkansas, and it shows in her work.

At UCA, students have the opportunity to participate in undergraduate research with faculty members. This provides innumerable teaching opportunities that not only benefit the students, but also the faculty.

Reaching the Top

Now an alumna of Sigma Sigma Sigma, Romes was a student member of the sorority when she met Hayden Murry at a Phi Gamma Delta philanthropy event in fall 2015. Murry asked five of his fraternity brothers-Benjy Richards, Landon Bear, Corey Pillow, Steven Bowen and Cesar Ramriez-got together to make the plan a reality.

Preserving Arkansas’s Natural Treasures

Out of the many natural treasures that can be found in the state of Arkansas, there are few that can compare to the beauty and popularity of the Buffalo River. The Buffalo River, which winds more than 150 miles long through northern Arkansas, attracts thousands of visitors every year for camping, float trips, sightseeing and hiking.

The Faulkner County Juvenile Drug Court (FCJDC) announced expanded partnerships with the University of Central Arkansas and other community partners.

UCA Announces First IT Apprenticeship Program in the State

The Division of Outreach and Community Engagement, the Arkansas Coding Academy, the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services and U.S. Department of Labor announced the state’s first Information Technology Based Registered Apprenticeship Program at the University of Central Arkansas.

UCA Student Wins National Study Abroad Scholarship

University of Central Arkansas student Colleen Weidman was named a recipient of a 2017-18 James G. Stemler Study Abroad Scholarship in the amount of $2,000.

UCA Accreditation Status Reaffirmed

The Higher Learning Commission continued the accreditation of the University of Central Arkansas. The University was notified in March.

Students Recognized at Board Meeting

Anastasiya Klimiankova and Lillian McEntire, both seniors, were the first CLAWS recognized. Anastasiya Klimiankova is a senior accounting major from Belarus. She served as 2016-2017 president of the Theta Lambda chapter of Beta Alpha Psi here at UCA.

Lacy Awarded Community Development Award
