The UCA Chapter of the Syrian Emergency Task Force has been made aware of urgent need in the Rukban IDP camp inside Syria near the border of Iraq. Rukban has been under siege from the Assad forces for almost a decade, UN assistance is not allowed in, and approximately 8000 people currently live in the camp.
Due to the ongoing siege and famine conditions, mothers in the camp are so malnourished they cannot feed their babies and many babies are dying from starvation. UCA-SETF is partnering with the Schedler Honors College and the new RSO Bears for Global Awareness to raise money to purchase and ship baby formula to Rukban. Every little bit helps and it takes about $130 to provide enough formula for an infant for one month.
We realize this isn’t a permanent solution and SETF is working closely with government organizations for a more permanent solution to this crisis. We ask that you donate to this effort, either directly to SETF here or by Cashapp to the Honors College ($HonorsCenterSociety) and all funds will be used to purchase and ship infant formula.
