On September 12th, Professor Liz Smith will lead the first Keystone Conversation of the fall semester during X-period, discussing “The World of Ceramics: You Can Go to College for That?”
How many of you proposed going to college to become an artist only to be met with questions
such as: Can you go to college for that? How will you make a living? Maybe you should go into
something more realistic? In this conversation, Professor Liz Smith will discuss studying the arts
in an academic setting and not giving up on your passion. While talking, she will also
demonstrate the process of making work in clay and discuss the complexities involved
mastering a craft.
This Keystone Conversation will kick off the residency of ceramic artist
