Dr. Veneta Fricks recently attended the Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA) in Charlotte, NC, where she was named the Mid Level Professional of the Year. The Mid-Level Professional Award recognizes someone who has provided exemplary service to SACSA and to their college or university campus. Additionally the recipient must possess outstanding character and serve as a role model for new and other mid-level professionals.
Dr. Fricks currently serves as the associate dean of students and is responsible for alcohol and drug programming and student conduct adjudication as well as the administration of programs such as the UCA CARE Team and 313-TALKUCA. Dr. Fricks has planned and implemented several new campus initiatives such as the Bear Truth Social Norming Campaign, Boos Over Booze, Summer Send Off and Safe Spring Break. She has given many years of service to SACSA as a program chair, executive board member and a multi-year program presenter. Dr. Fricks is also an active member of UCA Staff Senate and currently serves as vice president for that organization.
