Progress Reports will close Monday, February 17th, at 11:59 PM. The system cannot reopen after that time. Please submit your reports as soon as possible so academic support staff across campus can reach out to our students who need extra resources to finish the semester. By submitting progress reports, you help 58% of students maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher for the semester.

If you are a secondary instructor on a Banner course or a second-half course, click “Submit. I’m done. ” Every instructor must complete the progress report.

38% of the progress reports have been completed as of this morning.

Griffin Planetarium shows this Friday February 14 and Saturday February 15 at 7:00pm: The one-hour shows this week include a tour of the current sky, a flight around the universe, and the full-dome movie “Experience the Aurora”. The planetarium is located in the Conway Corporation Center for the Sciences. Seating starts 10 minutes before show time. Admission is free. Seating limited to the first 94. No admission after the shows begin. No food or drink allowed.

Attention, Faculty and Staff!

Spring is just around the corner, and what better time to show support for our UCA community? The LEAD cohort is excited to challenge YOUR building to surpass our donation of 367.4 lbs for the Bear Essentials Food Pantry (BEFP)!

Our Feed the Den Food Drive is happening right now, from February 1st to March 14th; we’re collecting non-perishable food items to support those in need. Be on the lookout for the LEAD-labeled collection box in your building.

The buildings that surpass our donation goal will earn recognition in UCA Inform and receive a special display item to showcase your generosity!

Every pound counts, and together, we can make a meaningful impact. Will your building rise to the challenge and help us provide food for UCA community members who need a little extra assistance this semester?

Start collecting donations today, and let’s see which building can bring in the most! Need ideas? Check out the attached flyer for the BEFP’s most requested items.

Basketball is nearing the end of the season. We would greatly appreciate your assistance by volunteering! Review the link to see the remaining games. Cheer on the Bears and give back! Did we mention that our Sugar Bears are 11-1/Ranked 2nd in the Conference!!!!

As announced at last years’ Convocation, since UCA employees no longer need to use 16 hours of holiday time at the end of the year. Volunteers can earn up to 16 hours of Staff Senate volunteer hours per calendar year that can be used whenever they’d like during that calendar year! You can also submit your volunteer activity for 5 points through the BeWell program!

HOT CLUB OF COWTOWN AND TYLER HILTON CELEBRATE THE MUSIC OF ELVIS PRESLEY FROM SUN STUDIO – Saturday, March 1 at 7:00 pm at Reynolds Performance Hall.

Popular American jazz and Western swing trio, Hot Club of Cowtown, join musician and actor Tyler Hilton, who played the role of Elvis Presley in the Golden Globe-winning biopic “Walk the Line,” for an incredible night of music featuring hits Presley recorded at the legendary Sun Studio.

Memphis’s Sun Studio has left its mark on the history of rock music. In part, as the home of at least 24 of Elvis’s early recordings made between 1954 and 1955 before his catalog of music was sold to RCA in November of 1955. During that time, some of his timeless hits including “That’s All Right,” “Blue Moon of Kentucky” and “Mystery Train” were recorded.

Hot Club of Cowtown may be the world’s most globe-trotting, effervescent string trio, who’s joyful sound blends the traditional Western swing of the 1940s American Southwest with European hot jazz influences of the same era. Along with his portrayal of Elvis Presley, Tyler Hilton has garnered a cult following as musician Chris Keller on the CW hit TV show One Tree Hill and toured with the likes of Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum and Joe Cocker.

Current and retired UCA Faculty and Staff may each receive two FREE tickets to three of the Public Appearances performances in the 2024-25 season.

* To obtain your tickets you must visit the box office in person with your current UCA ID before the day of the performance.
* Free tickets are subject to seating availability and, therefore, an event may sell out before the date arrives for free tickets.
* We cannot place orders for free tickets over the phone, nor can you bring the ID of anyone else in order to obtain more than 2 free tickets.
* You cannot receive more than 2 free tickets for an event, however we have great discounts on tickets for purchase.

The request for Foundation Faculty Grant proposals will be valid through academic year 2025-2026. Completed applications must be submitted no later than February 28, 2025. Award decisions will be made no later than March 15, 2025 by a committee appointed by the UCA Foundation, which includes faculty and community members. Completed applications, as well as letters of support from the applicant’s Dean and Department Chair, should be submitted through the online application.

The UCA Library invites you to attend our Bear Biographies Event (formerly The Human Library) at the UCA Torreyson Library (2nd floor) on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025 from 12 pm – 4 pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Bear Biographies is designed to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. It is a place where real people are on loan to readers– a place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated, and answered. Save the date to attend, or visit our Bear Biographies Guide for more information.

Our event, based on The Human Library, a worldwide project that originated in Copenhagen in 2000, is designed to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. People volunteering as “human books” will be available for individual, 20-minute conversations with participants interested in learning more about their stories.
