DISC-Personality Styles Seminar

Upcoming program-Veterans and Military Resource Center

The purpose of the UCA Veterans and Military Resource Center is to assist the student Veteran, their dependents, and currently serving military members to better understand and access the education benefits they have earned. In addition, our office as-sists veterans in their transition to the civilian college environment so that they may be more successful. Various forms of outreach will take place by our resource center throughout the year to aid our military connected community towards success.

Attend the program to learn more about this student population and see the new designated space to assist them.

Computer Science alumnus publishes in a prestigious journal

Harrison Bounds, a 2023 graduate of the BS program in Computer Science, published his research in a prestigious peer-reviewed journal:
H. Bounds, M. E. Celebi, and J. Maxwell, “Color Quantization Using an Accelerated Jancey k-Means Clustering Algorithm,” Journal of Electronic Imaging, vol. 33, no. 5, 053052, 2024.

This work was supervised by Dr. Emre Celebi, chair of Computer Science and Engineering. Harrison is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Robotics at Northwestern University.

BeWell Fitness for Everyone Webinar Series

If you’re eager to enhance your knowledge about physical activity and exercise, you’re invited to a four-week webinar series presented by Vincent Guyette, a graduate student from the Department of Nutrition and Family Sciences at UCA. This educational series will cover vital topics in physical activity and wellness. The sessions are scheduled for Wednesdays from noon to 1 PM on the following dates: November 13th, November 20th, December 4th, and December 11th.
