Occupational Therapy

The Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program offered by the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Central Arkansas is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupation Therapy Association (AOTA). For information about the program and its curriculum, see Occupational Therapy in the UCA Graduate Bulletin.

The OTD program meets educational requirements in all 50 states, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and Guam, and graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Potential applicants who live outside of Arkansas, however, should understand other regulations and requirements for licensure in their home states—application processes, required fees, and so forth—prior to enrolling in UCA’s program. Details for each state’s requirements can be found at state regulatory boards; see NBCOT’s Important Notes about applying for state licensure and the state-by-state regulatory board contact information linked from the NBCOT page.

The following table lists all U.S. states and discloses, in accordance with federal rules, one of the following: (1) UCA’s OTD program meets state education requirements for licensure or certification or (2) UCA’s OTD program does not meet state education requirements for licensure or certification.
