Dietetics and Nutrition Therapy

The Dietetics and Nutrition Therapy (DNT) track in the Master of Science in Nutrition offered by the Department of Nutrition and Family Sciences at the University of Central Arkansas is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). The DNT track meets educational requirements in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U. S. Virgin Islands. Graduates of this program of study are eligible to write the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) registration examination for dietitians. Potential program applicants who live outside of Arkansas, however, should understand other regulations and requirements for licensure in their home states or countries—application processes, required fees, and so forth—prior to enrolling in UCA’s program. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics maintains an up-to-date Licensure Map with information for each state’s and Puerto Rico’s licensure boards, statutes, rules, and regulations.

The following table lists all U.S. states and discloses, in accordance with federal rules, one of the following: (1) UCA’s DNT curriculum meets state education requirements for licensure or certification, (2) UCA’s DNT curriculum does not meet state education requirements for licensure or certification, or (3) UCA has not made a determination that its DNT curriculum meets state education requirements for licensure or certification.
