The Center for Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of Central Arkansas promotes intercultural global learning on campus related to Central, East, Southeast, and South Asian languages and cultures. CALC works to
- Promote faculty, staff, and student exchange between UCA and our university partners in Cambodia, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam
- Support the Japanese and Chinese Language programs and the Asian Studies program at the University of Central Arkansas by collaborating with these programs to support co-curricular cultural programming for UCA students and the local community
- Support UCA’s Arkansas Chinese Heritage Project in order to preserve the more than 150 year history of Chinese communities in Arkansas
- Offering cultural programming to highlight the history, cultures, and languages of Asian communities to Arkansas
