Q: Am I eligible to become a Bear Partner?
If you are enrolled in classes at ASU-Beebe, UACCM, or UA-PTC at the time of your application, then YES!* After you submit your application online, we will need to verify your enrollment status at ASU-Beebe, UACCM, or UA-PTC. Once we do, we’ll notify you that you’re in!
*Please note: ASU-Beebe, UACCM, and UA-PTC high school concurrent students, and students currently on academic suspension at UCA, are not eligible for Bear Partner admission.
Q: Do I need to re-apply to the Bear Partners Program each year?
No. The only requirement to remain a Bear Partner is to maintain your enrollment status at ASU-Beebe, UACCM, or UA-PTC. If you have to re-apply for admission at ASU-Beebe, UACCM, or UA-PTC due to non-enrollment for 12 consecutive months or more, then you would need to re-apply to the Bear Partners Program as well.
Q: If I am admitted as a Bear Partner while attending my community college, do I need to apply again as a transfer student when I am ready to transfer to UCA?
Yes. When you are admitted as a Bear Partner, this is a visiting student status at UCA. When you are ready to transfer to UCA, you will need to submit a transfer student (or, if you’ve attended UCA previously, a re-admit student) application.
Q: Am I eligible to receive an application fee waiver when I’m ready to apply as a transfer student?
If you were admitted as a Bear Partner in a semester previous to the semester you plan to start at UCA, then yes. You may not apply to be a Bear Partner and a Transfer student in the same semester and receive the application fee waiver.
For example, if you plan to start at UCA in Spring 2022, you must’ve been admitted to the Bear Partners program in Fall 2021 (or earlier) in order to be eligible for the application fee waiver.
Q: Am I eligible for the Bear Partner scholarship?
If you were admitted to the Bear Partners program by April 1st and will be a first-time transfer student to UCA in the fall, you are eligible. Students who have previously attended UCA, after high school graduation, are not eligible (this exclusion does not apply to students who have only attended UCA as concurrently enrolled high school students).
This is a competitive scholarship – one Bear Partner scholarship will be awarded annually per partner institution.
Q: Who do I contact if I have questions about additional scholarship opportunities?
Please contact Christy Garrett-Jones in the UCA Financial Aid Office for more information.
