Arkansas athletic trainers volunteered their time to care for the athletes from across Arkansas as they gathered on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas. The event was the annual AAA All-Star week that showcases graduated high school seniors.
The medical coverage was organized by former UCA athletic training graduate Todd Ross. The week-long event includes softball, baseball, M&W soccer, volleyball, M&W basketball and football.
Former and current Certified athletic trainers who provided their services for the week that have ties to UCA were: Todd Ross, Jason Carruth, David Strickland, and Steve Hornor.
The following athletic training students from the UCA athletic training program were: Nick Whittemore, Andrew Tackett, Lauren Talley, Ashley Womack, Karrie Butler, Chris Rodriguez, Wilson McKnight.
The University of Central Arkansas continues to be a leader in the athletic training profession across the state of Arkansas.



Dr. Darla Cathcart of the Department of Physical Therapy taught the course “Fundamentals of Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy” to Chilean physical therapists in Santiago, Chile, on October 4-6, 2014. The course, sponsored through the Section on Women’s Health of the American Physical Therapy Association, had a full cohort of 40 participants.
Dr. Heather Hudson, an Assistant Professor in the UCA Department of Health Sciences, has received an outstanding national honor. She has been chosen as “One Of The Top 30 Health Educators Under 30” by the national professional organization, the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE).
