In connection with the UCA Humanities Fair, UCA Humanities and World Cultures Institute will present a free and open to the public screening of “The Promised Land,” starring Matt Damon. The film will be shown at the Riverdale 10 Theatre in Little Rock. The film will be introduced and Dr. Nicholas S. Brasovan will lead a follow up discussion.
The event starts at 7:00 pm. This program is sponsored in part by a grant from the Arkansas Humanities Council and the National Endowment for Humanities.
Professor Rebekah Scallet, who teaches in the theatre program in the Department of Mass Communication and Theatre and serves as Producing Artistic Director of the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, received a Performing Arts Individual Artist Award in the area of Theatrical Directing from the Arkansas Arts Council.
UCA ArtProfessor David Bailin in the Department of Art recently won the Grand Award in the prestigious Delta Exhibition.
The Delta Exhibition was sponsored by the Arkansas Arts Center.
This is Bailin’s fourth award, and he was named to a select list of “Visionary Arkansans” by “The Arkansas Times.”
