UCA Communication Sciences and Disorders professor Dr. Magimairaj was invited to present a Guest Lecture at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysore, India, on December 15, 2015.
Her research topic is “Development of Working Memory: Implications for children with Specific Language Impairment.”
Dr. Magimairaj will present her previous research related to modeling Working Memory in school-age children, which fits within the broader context of working memory deficits in children with specific language impairment. Latest research on this topic will be presented to faculty, Ph.D., and graduate students.
The AIISH is completely financed by the Government of India and functions as an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It is the premier institute for academic and clinical training in the speech and hearing sciences in India. Besides separate speech, language, and audiology departments, the institute houses allied departments such as psychology, ENT, linguistics, and special education.
