Outstanding juniors, seniors, and recent alumni interested in doing post-graduate work abroad are encouraged to attend an informational meeting about Fulbright grant opportunities on Thursday, November 20, at X period in McAlister 302.
To be eligible, students must be American citizens. The application season for anyone wishing to go abroad in the 2016-17 academic year opens in May 2015, with completed applications due in September 2015. The application process can be somewhat involved, which is why interested students must get an early start.
Juniors, seniors, and recent alumni thinking of applying should be sure to visit www.us.fulbrightonline.org and to attend this informational meeting. At that time, the types of awards available and the various steps required to apply will be reviewed. Freshmen and sophomores who may wish to apply at a later date are also welcome to attend, to help them begin thinking about their plans.
These are prestigious awards, and the competition for them is tough. But UCA students CAN WIN! Just ask Morgan Poole Evatt, a May 2011 graduate who won a Fulbright that took her to Mexico to do research, or Kathy Hill or Brittany Edwardes, who were awarded Fulbrights in 2012 to teach English in South Korea and Malaysia (respectively). Who knows? Maybe you’ll be next!
