Dr. Tiruneh earned his doctorate at Binghamton University (SUNY) in 2001. He is the author of several articles and two books. His 2015 book, The Rise and Fall of the Solomonic Dynasty: Is the Kebra Nagast a Time-Bound Document? was published by Tsehai Publishers at Loyola Marymount University. His teaching interests include comparative politics (e.g., democratization, African politics, and Middle East politics). His research interests include democratic theory and measurement, socioeconomic development, academic performance, and Ethiopia political history.
