UCA students forgo meal trays & conserve resources

UCA students recently participated in a two-week trial of conservation program called “Who Needs Trays” at the Christian Cafeteria on campus.By utilizing the cafeteria without using trays, the students:

–Reduced water usage by 20 percent.
–Saved 25,000 kw/hours of electricity.
–Helped reduce the toxic chemical waste going into the water supply by 60 percent.
–Helped reduce solid waste (food, paper, and plastic) by 46 percent.
