UCA hosts Entrepreneurship Summit

The Center for Community and Economic Development at the University of Central Arkansas is pleased to announce Entrepreneurship in Arkansas: Tips and Tools, a half day convening to be held April 14th from 9:00 am – 12:00 p.m. in UCA’s Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center. The event is being hosted in partnership with UCA’s College of Business.

Speakers will cover topics related to entrepreneurship and talent development, challenges and opportunities for entrepreneurs, capital fundraising, and creating a supportive environment for entrepreneurship. Confirmed speakers include Rep. Warwick Sabin, Executive Director of the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub, Jeff Amerine, Director of Technology Ventures at the University of Arkansas, Matthew Hampton of Elevate Entrepreneurship Systems, and Grant Tennille, Executive Director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. Roby Brock of Talk Business will moderate the session.

“As leaders and communities work to grow their economic base, entrepreneurship should be part of a balanced development strategy. Entrepreneurs and small business owners are critical to our state’s future, so this program will highlight some of the key initiatives, tools, and strategies that can be used to create a more entrepreneurial state and region, “said Amy Whitehead, Director of the Center.

This session is designed for current and aspiring entrepreneurs, elected officials, community and economic developers, students and faculty, and anyone interested in supporting entrepreneurship in Arkansas. There is no cost to attend the event, but an RSVP is required. RSVP at www.uca.edu/cced.

Division of Outreach and Community Engagement. The Center manages the Community Development Institute, supports Arkansas communities and community and economic developers through training and technical assistance, and helps represent the university in its community engagement efforts.
