Tuba, euphonium ensemble concert set for March 2

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas Department of Music will host a March 2 concert featuring the students of Dr. Gail Robertson and the Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble.

The 7:30 p.m. concert in the Snow Fine Arts Center Recital Hall is free and open to the public.

Robertson and graduate student/guest conductor Shekinah Ball will lead the ensemble in a variety of works for tuba and euphonium ensemble. Works performed by the large ensemble will include Robertson’s arrangement of “America the Beautiful,” “In the Bleak Midwinter,” “Overture to the ‘Magic Flute,’” “Florentiner March,” “Salut d’Amour,” and Bach’s “Prelude and Fugue in G minor, BWV 558.”

Also scheduled to perform will be a tuba and euphonium quartet consisting of Ball, Steven Flores, Ben Scaccia and Jacob Waymon. All members of the UCA Wind Ensemble, they have formed a special quartet that will perform “Jada.”
