Grant to allow for ground-breaking spinal cord injury research

Nancy Reese, College of Health and Applied Sciences, received a $74,948 for a grant titled ?Center for Translational Neuroscience at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.?

The grant will bring ground-breaking research in spinal cord injury to Arkansas and will result in the development of a non-pharmacological (exercise) method of controlling spasticity in patients with spinal cord injury.

According to Reese, the grant will benefit patients with spinal cord injury by reducing their dependency on medication.
