Admission & MBA Requirements

Admission Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution or international degree equivalent to U.S. accredited institutions.
  • Undergraduate GPA of 2.7, or 3.0 in the last 60 hours.
  • GMAT – 500 minimum, the equivalent GRE (Graduate Record Examination) score, or a minimum of 110 on the aptitude portion of the Chinese National Postgraduate Entrance Examination (NPEE) for Management and Economics majors
  • English Language Proficiency (only for international applicants)
    • TOEFL (Test of English as a Second Language)
      • 550 on the paper based examination
      • 79 Internet based examination
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Score of 6.5
  • Personal essay.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Current resume.

Conditional Admission

Applicants not meeting all of the admission criteria may be admitted on a conditional basis. Conditional admission will depend on evidence of potential success in the program such as: the applicant’s maturity, motivation, employment history, managerial potential, letters of recommendation, personal statement, and other accomplishments. Conditionally admitted students must obtain a 3.00 GPA in the first nine (9) hours of coursework toward the degree. After this point, the conditional status will be removed.

MBA Program Requirements

To receive the MBA degree, the student must complete the 30-hour MBA core courses with a GPA of 3.00 or higher. Students with a non-business undergraduate degree from an accredited institution may be required to take pre-requisite courses prior to enrollment in the MBA core courses. Students who have the equivalent of any pre-requisite course in another program may be exempt from taking that course. Please consult with the MBA Director.

An MBA student is required to finish ten classes (30 credit hours). Seven of those classes are required core classes (see below). To fit the career needs of our students, the remaining courses are electives. We are continuously increasing the number of offered electives.
