Poverty Studies

Vision: To engage and equip UCA students, faculty, staff and community partners in research and experiential learning that target poverty, with an emphasis on Arkansas.

Mission: To serve as a communication and service hub that orchestrates and highlights various conferences, lectures, and educational opportunities.

Goals of the Poverty Studies Working Group

  1. Promote an understanding of poverty and its outcomes.
  2. Facilitate the production of quality research–qualitative and quantitative–that offers substantive solutions regarding poverty alleviation.
  3. Facilitate learning opportunities for faculty, students, nonprofits, and local citizens to learn and discuss poverty alleviation.
  4. Prepare individuals to address poverty within religious, social, economic, and political spheres.
  5. Connect individuals and organizations seeking to address poverty locally, nationally, and globally.

UCA dedicates itself to academic vitality, integrity, and diversity.
