Mark Heffington is currently the director of web development and responsible for online communication for the UCA Magazine.
In this capacity, he oversees all online communication, and over 200 websites for the university, as well as managing Facebook, Twitter and Instagram social media accounts.
Mark’s professional expertise, attention to detail, and willingness to help and serve all across campus, as well as his quiet charm and jovial approach to work tasks, helped to earn him the award of Employee of the Year for 2014-2015.
Mark began his career at UCA as a student worker. After graduating in 2004 with a bachelor’s in business administration, Mark became an applications programmer. He became director of web development in 2014.
He has spent six years on the UCA Staff Senate in various roles and is a two time winner of the Staff Senate Behind the Scenes service award.
A native of Vilonia and life-long resident of Faulkner County, Mark is married to UCA alumna, Kristin, who serves as research associate in the Office of Institutional Research. The couple has two daughters, Zoey and Avery.
