My research goals are to improve the breadth and depth of understanding of sport fandom and examine the social impacts of sporting events on the public. My research has specifically explored (a) sport consumer attitudes and loyalty, (b) social media and live-streaming services, and (c) the Olympic Games. The line of my research has been extended to fans’ psychological well-being and sustainable behaviors.
I am also interested in applying advanced statistical tools (e.g., structural equation modelling, meta-analysis, Rasch model) and methods to my research. My recent work on sport business analytics utilizes machine learning algorithms and web crawlers through open-source programming languages (e.g., Python, R programming) to generate new insights and possibilities into the sport industry.
