Research Interests:

I have conducted research and published in a wide variety of topics, including the fate of herbicides in soil, photochemistry and supercritical fluid extraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons adsorbed on the surface of coal fly ash, atmospheric chemistry of tropospheric ozone, chemical education, general/liberal education, history of chemistry at UCA (with Dr. Jerry Manion), scientific reasoning, and science journalism. My current research interests involve the elemental analyses of environmental samples using atomic absorption spectroscopy, in particular the analyses of lead (Pb) in drinking water and mercury (Hg) in fish.
