To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, UCA is prepared to provide students and employees with vaccinations and personal protective equipment.
Vaccine Information
Where can I get vaccinated?
The UCA Student Health Clinic is offering the updated (bivalent) booster doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at no charge to students, faculty, staff, and immediate family members of UCA faculty and staff by appointment. This includes any family members age 12 years and older who live in the house. To schedule an appointment, please call the UCA Student Health Clinic at 501-450-3136.
Vaccines are widely available. You are welcome to be vaccinated at any participating community pharmacy or clinic. The State of Arkansas has a Vaccine Clinic Call Center (1-800-803-7847) to learn about vaccine opportunities in your area. You may also visit the Arkansas Department of Health website to find a provider near you.
Do I need to get a booster shot?
Updated (bivalent) boosters became available on Sept. 2, 2022 for people 12 years of age and older and on Oct. 12, 2022 for people aged 5-11. The updated (bivalent) boosters are called “bivalent” because they protect against both the original virus that causes COVID-19 and the Omicron variant BA.4 and BA.5. The CDC recommends everyone stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines including boosters. Visit the CDC website to review eligibility guidelines and the recommended timeline for receiving COVID-19 vaccine boosters.

Personal Protective Equipment
UCA will provide students and employees with a face covering upon request. For students, face coverings, including KN95 masks, are available in the Office of Student Life, Student Center 207, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Employees may request a variety of personal protective items and cleaning items by using the PPE Request Form.
Cleaning & Sanitation
It is recommended that you frequently wash your hands or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer. We have increased the number of sanitizing stations set up around campus. They can be found in many high-traffic and high-contact areas and in buildings.
Custodians are cleaning buildings, classrooms and restrooms on a daily basis and are focusing on wiping down all touch points such as sinks, door knobs/handles, tables, elevator buttons, toilets, faucets, light switches, etc.
In addition to routine maintenance on all heating and air units, the Physical Plant is also changing air filters multiple times a year and cleaning air handlers and fan coil units regularly. In 2021, the university approved a multi-year ventilation system upgrade that will enhance air flow in many buildings across campus.
