Description: The Ring of Peace commemorates the forty-six UCA alumni killed in World War II. The large ring, carved from the same memorial tree as that used for the Valor Bear sculpture in front of Wingo Hall, contains forty-six notches, each one marking a life extinguished by war. The five smaller rings reference the unified support of the five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. The ring in its entirety, an age-old symbol of eternity, symbolizes our lasting desire for peace.
