Fletcher B. Lowry Award

The Fletcher B. Lowry Award is presented annually to the outstanding student in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science.

The award is named after former Professor and Chairman of the Physical Education Department at the University of Central Arkansas, Dr. Fletcher B. Lowry. During his career, Dr. Lowry served two terms as President of the Arkansas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. In 1996, he was elected Professor Emeritus at UCA; in 2004 he was elected to the Central Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame; and he served as a teacher and coach for many years in the state of Arkansas.
