Dr. Bruenger started his academic career as a high school teacher and coach.  He then earned his M.S. in Human Performance from Wisconsin LaCrosse and his Ph.D. in Biomechanics from Michigan State University.  His research interests include the evaluation of common strength and conditioning practices, the biomechanics of lifting techniques, and the effect of stretching on performance.  Dr. Bruenger is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Level 2 sprints and hurdles coach through USA Track and Field.
