Key Characteristics & Results

  • Co-mingled design
  • Transitional students met 5 days per week
  • 4 sections of MATH 1390:  College Algebra with 40 students each
    • 20 transitional and 20 non-transitional
  • 4 sections of UNIV 0390:  Foundations of College Algebra with 20 transitional students each
  • 3 of the Foundations of College Algebra courses were taught by a different instructor than the College Algebra course
  • 1 Foundation of College Algebra course was taught by the same instructor as the College Algebra course.
  • 82% (64 of the 78) transitional students passed both courses with a D or higher
  • X%  (Y of the 78) transitional students passed both courses with a C or higher
