UCA VISTA
Lifting People Out of Poverty Since 1965
AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) members bring passion and perseverance where the need is greatest: to organizations that help eradicate poverty. AmeriCorps VISTA members serve as a catalyst for change, living and working alongside community members to meet our nation’s most pressing challenges and advance local solutions.
In accordance with AmeriCorps VISTA, UCA-based AmeriCorps VISTA serves to alleviate poverty in Arkansas, while helping build a bridge between our campus here at UCA and the community of Conway. These programs are targeted toward recent graduates desiring a full-time service opportunity. VISTA projects include conducting assessments within organizations and the community, developing donor databases and stewardship plans, creating communication strategies and volunteer management plans, and building capacity for collaboration and resource sharing by developing sustainable networks among organizations working in similar areas of need.
Eligible applicants must be 18 years or older and hold one of the following citizenship or legal residency statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card status), refugee, asylee, temporary protected status, or DACA status.
