Dr. Juan Maefield earned his PhD in African American and African Studies at Michigan State University. His research focuses on the history of the Nation of Islam and more broadly on the long civil rights movement. He teaches Introduction to African/African American Studies, African American History Before and Since 1868, Civil Rights Movement history, and topics courses.
