What is BearsServe Leaders?
BearsServe Leaders is UCA’s AmeriCorps program that engages current undergraduate students in intensive service experiences with nonprofit partners in Conway, AR. Such services and programs include tutoring, mentoring, food recovery, gardening, and financial literacy. As a BearsServe Leader, you will provide direct support for programs focused on health, education, and economic opportunity. 15 hours of service are required per week, for two 15-week semesters (450 hours total). It is an excellent opportunity for students desiring an active role in the Conway community outside of classes.
Benefits for BearsServe Leaders
- AmeriCorps members receive a total financial award of $5,896, which includes a living allowance stipend paid out over the course of the service term ($3,940 for the 2024-2025 program year) and an education award of $1,956 available after completing 450 hours of service
