July 8 – August 9, 2019

If your major plan of study requires you to complete College Algebra, why not take it this summer? This five-week Summer Start program is designed for students who want to complete their Core math requirement early, and want to learn how to be a successful college student before the Fall semester even begins.


Math4Success will allow you to:

  • Complete MATH 1390 (College Algebra) 9:40 am – 11:10 am, a UCA Core requirement for many majors
  • Complete ACAD 1300 (Journeys to Success) 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm, which is a First-Year Seminar course and a UCA Core requirement
  • Learn about the resources UCA offers to help you succeed
  • Meet other students, faculty, and staff before Welcome Week even begins
  • Experience campus life and even move into your residence hall early after the program (extra fee required)
  • Have fun!

Eligibility requirements – To participate, students must:

  • Be an entering first-year UCA student admitted for Summer or Fall 2019
  • Intend to major in a program that requires College Algebra

Program requirements – In order to participate, students must:

  • Register no later than July 7, 2019 or until the program is full, click on the link at the bottom of the page to register.
    • {Note: the 2018-2019 FAFSA must be submitted by June 30, 2019 in order to be considered for federal financial aid}
  • Be enrolled in 6 hours  MATH 1390 (College Algebra) 9:40 am – 11:10 am and ACAD 1300 (Journeys to Success) 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
  • Commit to attending all scheduled class  sessions and tutoring hours.  The program is an all-day program (8am-5pm) on M-F.  You will need to plan to be on campus all day!
  • Complete all assignments as assigned by the instructors

You may participate as a residential student by living in campus housing, or as a commuter.  It’s your choice!

Approximate costs (based on Summer 2018):

Residential: $2,771 – approximate maximum total cost; includes:
• 6 hours tuition & fees ($1,754)
• Campus housing ($467)

Non-residential: $2,114 – approximate maximum total cost; includes:
• 6 hours tuition & fees ($1,754)
• Lunch only ($105) or lunch and dinner ($210)
