• The mentor teacher and university instructor meet before the semester starts to discuss the placement.
• The mentor teacher and university instructor work together to determine the teaching content and preliminary schedules of the STEMteach students.
• The mentor teacher is expected to meet (in person) at least once with the STEMteach students to discuss and schedule their teaching experiences.
• The mentor teacher is willing to communicate with STEMteach students and the university instructor via e-mail and/or phone calls.

During classroom visits by STEMteach students:

• The mentor teacher is expected to be present in the classroom at all times. Pre-service teachers cannot be left alone with a substitute or other interns.
• The mentor teacher assumes primary responsibility for classroom management while pre-teachers deliver their lesson.

After classroom visits by STEMteach students:

• The mentor teacher completes a short Teacher Feedback Form for each lesson and provides a copy to the STEMteach students at the conclusion of each of the lessons.

Throughout the semester:

• The mentor teacher uses e-mail to communicate with the STEMteach pre-teachers and UCA STEMteach Master Teacher
