The 5th Annual External Funding Impact Award
The External Funding Impact Award was established in 2018 to recognize a faculty or staff member for excellence in obtaining external funding and to recognize the impact of external funding on individuals, the university, the community, and our disciplines and fields of study. The recipient, to be announced at Faculty Convocation, will receive $500 and will be honored at our office’s annual reception in Fall 2023.
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is currently receiving nominations for the award. Nominations must be received by December 20, 2022.
Application Process
The application process begins with the nomination of eligible faculty or staff. Please click here to nominate a colleague.
After nominations have closed, the chair of the 2023 External Funding Impact Award Committee will invite eligible nominees to submit a complete application portfolio. Application portfolios should be shared with the committee chair, Dr. Charlotte Parham, via email by 5:00 p.m. CST on April 3, 2023.
Portfolios should contain the following documentation:
1. Current vitae or résumé (Limited to 3 pages)
2. A list of externally funded activities for the last five years. Please indicate the applicant’s role on the grant (e.g. PI, Co-PI, Subawardee, etc.) and amounts awarded.
3. A statement of no more than 1,000 words describing the impact of the applicant’s externally-funded projects on individuals, the university, the community, and/or on the discipline or field. You may also include an appendix of up to 3 pages to share charts, graphs, photos, or any other evidence of impact.
4. Two letters of reference that address the significance and impact of the project activity on individuals, the university, the community, and/or the field.

April 2023: Recipient Determined
August 2023: Recipient Announced at Faculty Convocation
September 2023: Recipient Honored Award at Sponsored Programs Reception
