UCA uses an electronic system called Cayuse 424 to route all external grant proposals (federal, state, foundation, and industry) through the administrative channels needed for approval prior to submission. The approvals needed at the institutional level may include individuals/offices such as the department chair, college dean, provost, grants accounting, and sponsored programs. This process ensures that you have the institutional support required by UCA policy and most funding agencies.
NOTE: You will need a brief training to use Cayuse 424 for the first time. Please call (501) 450-3451 to set up an appointment.
Federal Grant Submission
In addition to the routing process, Cayuse 424 is also used to submit all federal proposals to Grants.gov. Be aware that some federally funded grants require proposal writers to submit additional information through other government systems. For example, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) requires that proposers create an eRA Commons account in order to apply for NIH grants before submitting applications through Cayuse 424.
Non-Federal Grant Submission
You will route your proposal through Cayuse 424, and then submit it to the agency through the process described in the agency’s instructions.
