Application and Selection Process

Individuals wishing to apply to the UCA Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency Program should access RFPTCAS the centralized application service for the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE) to submit an application.

Minimal eligibility requirements for application:

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy
  • Eligible for employment at Arkansas Children’s Hospital or Allied Therapy and Consulting Services
  • Eligible for admission to UCA Graduate Program (master’s degree or higher with cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher)

Desirable applicants include those who:

  • Have completed one or more full-time clinical experience(s) in Pediatric Physical Therapy
  • Possess strong skills in clinical reasoning
  • Are highly motivated individuals with demonstrated interest in advancing pediatric clinical practice
  • Possess superior verbal and written communication skills

Minimal eligibility requirements for admission:

  • Physical Therapist Licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy
  • Compliance with employment requirements of Arkansas Children’s Hospital or Allied Therapy and Consulting Services
  • Admission to University of Central Arkansas Graduate Program (master’s degree or higher with cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher)

The application deadline is in early January each year (see specific deadlines in RFPTCAS portal) with anticipated start date in late August of the same calendar year.

Selected applicants will be invited to attend an on-site interview with members of the selection committee. Applicants will be responsible for travel costs. Notification of applicants who are accepted to the program will be made at least 2 months prior to the start date.
