Dr. Lora (Lori) Mize is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Physical Therapy and a licensed physical therapist. She is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health Physical Therapy. Dr. Mize received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2004 from the University of Central Arkansas. Dr. Mize worked as a full-time clinician devoted to women’s and pelvic health rehabilitation for 11 years and has worked primarily in academia as a faculty member for the last 7 years. Dr. Mize joined the faculty at the University of Central Arkansas Department of Physical Therapy in January 2019. Dr. Mize has been a faculty member for the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Academy of Pelvic Health (APHPT), teaching in the area of pelvic health for many years and has served on the Board of Directors as Vice-President and as the Director of Education for the Academy. She currently serves on the Academy’s Pelvic Health Committee where she authors and reviews course materials for the pelvic health series. Dr. Mize also serves as a committee member on the Academy’s International Education Committee which serves to increase pelvic health physical therapy education and advocacy for patients and the profession around the globe. Dr. Mize’s primary teaching responsibility within the University of Central Arkansas Doctor of Physical Therapy Curriculum is in Patient Management and Documentation, Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health, Administration in Physical Therapy, Case-based Learning in various courses. Dr. Mize has administered a yearly service-learning trip to St. Lucia Special Education Schools and has created study abroad coursework on “The Art of Anatomical Dissection” to bridge the humanities and health sciences in DPT curricula.
