The UCA Police Department is seeking the assistance of the campus community in identifying the suspect in a theft that occurred in Lewis Science Center on February 4th.

On Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at approximately 2:16 PM the suspect pictured below was apprehended after he was spotted on the UCA campus by a student. The suspect is identified as Yahya Baraak Mumin, age 45, of Conway. Mumin, who is not a student or otherwise affiliated with UCA, was charged with theft of property (class C felony) and fraudulent use of a credit card (class A misdemeanor) and transported to the Faulkner County Detention Center.

Update Regarding Additional Yik Yak Posts

The UCA Police Department received a report of a second Yik Yak post which was suspicious.  Our investigation has led to the questioning of the individual involved in the post and we have determined that there was no malicious intent. The UCA Police Department will fully investigate and take appropriate action on any and all suspicious posts that are reported to us or that come to our attention. The campus is open, and classes and other university business will continue as usual.

 

Safety alert – Online threat suspect in custody

A message was recently posted on a social media site referring to a possible threat on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas.
The UCA Police Department investigated immediately and a suspect, a UCA student, is now in custody. Police are working with the prosecuting attorney and the FBI to determine appropriate charges.
Update: Student Samual Davies was arrested this morning on one count Felony Terroristic Threatening and one Felony count of Communicating a Threat.

Credit card theft suspect arrested

Thank you to the members of the UCA community who were able to provide assistance in the identification of the suspect in the credit card theft that occurred Tuesday morning. UCA PD detectives were able to establish the identity of the suspect early in the investigation, and, today, traveled to Pine Bluff and took the suspect, student Jaymes Ferrell, into custody. Ferrell has been charged with two counts of theft of property, a class D felony, and has been transported to the Faulkner County Detention Center.

The UCA Police Department is seeking the assistance of the campus community in identifying a suspect in the theft credit cards from Stanley Russ Hall. The theft occurred at approximately 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 27th.
