Students in the LEAD program are engaged in a field based research project to develop a strategic sustainability plan for the Taking Action For the Future (TAFF) program currently in the pilot phase. TAFF is a project between Literacy Action of Central Arkansas and Pulaski Technical College to retool Arkansas workers in need of literacy skills. Along with developing a strategic plan, the LEAD student’s task will be to identify additional external partners with state-level agency and to develop a model of TAFF that could be used across the state.
The research was complete as of summer 2014, and LEAD hopes to present the strategic plan in early 2015. Students involved in the project were honored with the opportunity to present their research at the International Leadership Association’s annual conference in San Diego, California in the Fall of 2014.
