Literacy Action Project

In 2013-2014, LEAD students were engaged in a field-based research project to develop a strategic sustainability plan for the Taking Action For the Future (TAFF) program–currently in the pilot phase. TAFF is a project between Literacy Action of Central Arkansas and University of Arkansas Pulaski Tech to retool Arkansas workers in need of literacy skills. Along with developing a strategic plan, the LEAD student’s task is to identify additional external partners with state-level agency and to develop a model of TAFF that could be used across the state.

The research was completed in summer of 2014, and LEAD students presented the strategic plan in early 2015. Students involved in the project were honored with the opportunity to present their research at the International Leadership Association’s Annual Conference in San Diego, California in the fall of 2014.
