2019 Student Orientation Staff
As a part of the New Bear Central online orientation experience, the Student Orientation Staff is going virtual! Our orientation leaders will host interactive sessions throughout June and July.

What can I expect?
The virtual sessions will be interactive (of course there will be icebreakers!) and informative. They will provide an opportunity to ask questions about campus life, hear advice about the transition to college life, and connect with other freshmen. Each session will last one hour and 10 minutes and there will be an opportunity to stay longer to hang out with your incoming classmates.
The sessions are facilitated by our Student Orientation Staff. The Student Orientation Staff (SOS) is a group of 90 currently enrolled, volunteer student leaders who are responsible for facilitating summer orientation and Welcome Week activities. These students are chosen based on academic standing, campus involvement, and dedication to service. They are experienced upperclassmen who are here to support and serve you!
How can I attend?
All sessions will be hosted on Zoom video teleconferencing service. Registration is required and each session has a limited capacity. Click the date for the session you would like to attend and complete the registration form. You will receive a confirmation email with your custom link to join the session. Registration closes at noon the day before each session. The session will open 10 minutes prior to the start time.
If you have not used Zoom, we recommend checking out their guide to Joining a Meeting. Zoom can be used on a computer, tablet, or phone application through Zoom’s download website. You can also participate in the sessions through phone call; instructions on how to join by phone can be found in the confirmation email.
