If you are looking for a community to worship with, UCA is home to over 20 faith-based and/or spiritual student organizations hosting numerous services or meetings weekly. You can reach out to them through CubConnect and many will be present at Conway Daze on Wednesday of Welcome Week.

Meditative Morning Walk – 9:00-10:15 am

Jewel E. Moore Nature Reserve (behind the HPER Center)

Join UCA staff members as they lead you through the Jewel E. Moore Nature Reserve (JMNR) on a meditative walk to start off your first full day on campus. The JMNR is 18 acres of prairie and woodland located behind the HPER Center. After visiting the JMNR, you’ll be introduced to the labyrinth behind State Hall. Donuts will be provided.

 

BEAR Life Kickoff Brunch – 11:30am-12:30pm

Come get your BEARings Straight at our official BEAR Life Kickoff Brunch. Students enrolled in the Fall 2023 co-hort for BEAR Life will be able to pick up all of their BEAR Life materials, meet the staff, and here about all the exciting plans for the year. This event is only open to students enrolled in the BEAR Life program.

Moving away from home and finding a new routine can be overwhelming – and that’s okay! It’s all about finding balance and discovering ways to manage stress. We’ll have lots of activities to help you work through the nerves everyone gets their first few days on campus.

You will hear from the President, Provost, Vice President for Student Affairs, and your SGA President. You’ll receive a Class of 2027 shirt to wear in the class picture and you won’t want to miss the Class of 2027 video and fireworks show to close your first full day on campus! Welcome to Bear Country!

Sensory Warning – the fireworks show taking place after Convocation will be a high-sensory event. Earplugs will be available.

Attendance will be taken at this event using Event Pass so you will receive credit toward completing your New Bear Bucket List. Watch a brief video of how to use Event Pass below.
