Ronald W. Jensen-McDaniel (Ron) received his Master’s of Arts in Community Music with top honors from the University of Limerick (UL) in January of 2013 and his Bachelor’s of Music with a concentration in vocal performance from the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in 2010. Recently, Ron performed with Opera in the Rock in a concertized performance of William Grant Still’s opera Troubled Island. Ron also recently premiered an aria from Tania Leòn’s opera Little Rock Nine, in conjunction with the 60th anniversary celebration of the integration of Central High School. This past Spring, Ron performed in the chorus for Opera in the Rock’s production of The Barber of Seville. In Fall of 2016, Ron premiered excerpts from Ulysses Key’s opera, Frederick Douglass, with the Hendrix College  Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Karen Griebling. In Winter 2016, Ron performed with the UCA Opera Theater and Conway Symphony Orchestra in Gian Carlo Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. Ron’s past roles include; Dmitri in The Music Shop, Tom/John in The Face on the Barroom Floor, Schaunard, La Bohéme-Opera in the Rock, May 2016, Peter, Hansel and Gretel-UCA Opera Theater, Spring 2016, and Figaro, Le Nozze de Figaro, UCA Opera Theater, Spring 2015. Currently, Ron teaches voice alongside his wife, Jaimee Jensen-McDaniel, at Southern Arkansas University and at First United Methodist Church through the FirstArts Education Program.
