Visiting Assistant Professor of Mass Communication:  The University of Central Arkansas seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mass Communication in the area of Broadcast Journalism.  A terminal degree or significant progress toward a terminal degree is required; professional experience and/or college teaching experience preferred.  A research background is preferred with a relevant professional or scholarly record.  Knowledge of sound recording and editing is essential.  Candidates should have a working knowledge of Adobe Premiere and other editing systems.  This is nine-month appointment with competitive salary, starting August 2014.  Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to) teaching courses in news production and supervision of daily student news student productions.  The successful candidate is one committed to teaching in a liberal arts environment and is intent on maintaining an active artistic and scholarly life.

University: Founded in 1907, UCA is an accredited, comprehensive university with approximately 11,000 students and high academic standards.

Community: Located just 30 minutes away from Little Rock, the capital of Arkansas, Conway is also home to two private colleges, a public school system ranked among the state’s best, and a strong K-12 parochial school. Real estate in this dynamic “City of Colleges” is moderately priced and taxes are low.
