Online Resources

The library has a wide range of online resources, ebooks, and article databases. These can be accessed either through OneSearch or from our A – Z Databases page.

Off-Campus Access

Most of the library’s online resources are available off-campus.

  • Make sure you know your MyUCA username and password and you have your security questions set in case you need to reset your password.
  • See Off-Campus Access on the library webpage for instructions and troubleshooting tips.

Ebook Collections

Ebooks are also available by searching OneSearch or from the following library resources:

Open Resources

The library created an Open Resource Access During COVID-19 guide with a list of Publisher/Vendor support for access to e-resources in response to COVID-19 and will continue to update the list with any new information.

Books, DVDs, and other Circulating Resources

Extended Loan Periods:

Do you have books checked out? UCA Library wants to give our students one less thing to worry about. All books currently checked out for a regular loan period are being updated in our system to reflect a new due date of September 1, 2020. Please note: This only applies to student borrowers and books with a standard 28 day loan period. Interlibrary loan items and loans for community borrowers and faculty are not affected.

Interlibrary Loan

At this time, Interlibrary loan will not process requests for physical items but will continue to process requests for materials that can be delivered electronically. Interlibrary loan relies on cooperation with other libraries to receive resources. Therefore, the closures of other universities and institutions means that access to these resources will be limited.

Faculty Services

  • Library Instruction: Library instruction classes can be delivered synchronously via Blackboard Collaborate and asynchronously via other video/screen capture options, depending on the needs and preferences of faculty. Please reach out to Amber Wilson (amberc@uca.edu) OR use the form below to make arrangements for your class.
  • Research Resources: Librarians can assist with locating digital resources for student and faculty research projects..
  • Textbooks: The library’s textbook program is very popular among students. While the library has purchased some textbooks in ebook format, the majority of the textbook collection is not available with the library closed. If this is an issue for your students,
    • Many textbooks are freely available online for the rest of the semester. Please see our research guide Open Resource Access During COVID-19, find the box titled Textbooks Online on the left side of the page, and select the link for the list of textbooks freely available on the RedShelf and VitalSource platforms.
    • We also recommend reaching out to textbook publishers for digital copies.
    • If neither of these options work, please contact us using the form below and we will investigate other options.
