Who Should Apply?

The Graduate GIS Programs are designed for students enrolled in existing master’s programs and graduates of universities who are now working professionals in environmental resource management, urban and regional planning, local government, facilities managers, and other fields. It is designed specifically for those persons who want to become a more skilled and knowledgeable user of geographic information systems and who may benefit by earning graduate credit.

The Program has been designed very broadly so that it will most benefit entry-level and/or intermediate-level GIS users who lack a formal education in geography or GIS. No previous experience with GIS is required, but persons who enroll in the program must have a bachelor’s degree.
