What is the English Club?
The English Club at UCA promotes love of reading, good discussion and conversation between English majors, minors, or any students interested in literature, the liberal arts, and the role of books, learning and reflection in a humane education. Above all, the members of the English Club have a good time and enjoy one another’s contributions to the organization.
Our special projects have included attendance at a sneak preview of the Arkansas Repertory’s production of The Grapes of Wrath, the club’s participation at an international Robert Louis Stevenson conference held at the Little Rock Library, and a trip to Memphis to attend a production of Margaret Edson’s Pulitzer-prize winning drama, Wit. The club has visited the Hemingway-Pfiefer museum in Piggot, AR and many club members were present at the 7th Annual International Conference on the Short Story which was held in New Orleans, LA.
What if I am not an English major?
If you are not currently an English major, minor, or ever planning on being one, it does not matter. The UCA ENGLISH CLUB is open to any person that has an interest in literature of all sorts or is just plain bored. Please feel welcome to join us at any meeting or event.
