When UCA students, faculty, staff or even community members have product ideas or even inventions, they can bring those plans to the UCA Makerspace and work with staff to develop a prototype, as well as receive guidance on their next steps. All these services come at no cost. From the novice maker to the professional, anyone can walk into the UCA Makerspace in Donaghey Hall and have access to equipment from sewing and embroidery machines to 3D printers and laser engravers. The Makerspace has helped several entrepreneurs prototype and patent their ideas, including Jessica Jones who created a product called the Zipper Genie which helps women zip their own dresses.
