Will Baker- Transportation Coordinator for Courtesy Cart Service

My name is Will Baker and I have been employed here at the University of Central Arkansas since 2009. In December of 2018 I was given the opportunity to be the Transportation Coordinator and to help make this service what it is today. I really enjoy serving others and always looking at ways to better myself. Our main goal is to get you to/from class in a safe and timely manner. My main goal is to make sure that our cart drivers are polite and professional when making their way around campus. Thank you and go Bears!!!!

Chris Newton- Courtesy Cart Driver

Hello, my name is Chris Newton, I’m retired and now work part time at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) for the Disability Resource Center as a courtesy cart driver.  Prior to UCA, I worked part time for the Faulkner County Senior Center as a shuttle driver transporting senior citizens to their doctor and hospital visits.  My career before retirement was as a human resource professional for both the manufacturing and higher education fields. A favorite part of my work has always been meeting and assisting others.  The shuttle and cart driver positions provided me the opportunity to continue to help people. I’m a native Arkansan, graduated from the Arkadelphia High School, received a bachelor’s degree from Henderson State University, and a master’s degree from Gonzaga University. My wife Diane and I have been married 42 years, we have two grown sons and six grandchildren.  We enjoy visiting the grands, traveling, hiking and look forward to learning to kayak.

Greg Hall- Courtesy Cart Driver

My name is Greg Hall, and I am a Courtesy Cart Driver for UCA.  I thoroughly enjoy my job and feel like it’s a perfect fit for me because I am such a people person.  My position allows me the opportunity to interact with students on a light hearted basis when transporting them to their classes. I am originally from Dallas, Texas and spent over 40 years of management in the retail grocery business.  After my wife’s passing, I decided that I needed a change, and so I moved to Arkansas and went back to college at the age of 60 to pursue a degree in Petroleum Technology.  I can tell you that it was a huge accomplishment, and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, but I managed to graduate with honors! I then worked as a Roustabout II for Southwestern Energy, and retired from there at the age of 67.  In 2014, I remarried and currently reside in Conway.  In my free time, I enjoy working on projects around the house, walking my dog, Ruby Grace, and spending time with family and friends.

Robert Lanning- Courtesy Cart Driver

My name is Robert, and I am a driver for the University Courtesy Cart Services. I am a retired IT professional of 35 years, I enjoy gardening and making wine from grapes grown on our land. Other hobbies include a small machine shop, amateur (ham) radio operator and running my model railroad. Some of the interesting things I have seen come to pass in my lifetime; internet, cell phones and online everything from banking to education to entertainment. It has certainly been an interesting time to be alive, especially to see and be a part of the dawn of the digital age.
